BIO: David Acevedo fue un destacado defensor argentino que jugó en Independiente entre 1957 y 1968. Reconocido por su versatilidad, actuó como lateral, volante central y zaguero. Con el club conquistó los campeonatos argentinos de 1960, 1963 y 1967, además de las Copas Libertadores de 1964 y 1965. También integró la Selección Argentina en la Copa del Mundo de 1958. Es recordado, además, por una frase que refleja su identificación con el club: “La camiseta no se besa, se honra”.

David Acevedo was a distinguished Argentine defender who played for Independiente from 1957 to 1968. Known for his versatility, he featured as a full-back, central midfielder and centre-back. With the club, he won the Argentine championships in 1960, 1963 and 1967, as well as the Copa Libertadores in 1964 and 1965. He was also part of Argentina’s squad at the 1958 FIFA World Cup. He is also remembered for a phrase that reflected his strong bond with the club: “The shirt is not kissed; it is honored.”.
